Having spent the last hour reading fic...

One R, two Bs.

One R, two Bs.

Caribbean.

There are places in the world that are difficult to spell. This really shouldn't be one of them.

And the difficulty of spelling "Caribbean" can be mitigated with one simple click of the spell checker...

I can understand misspelling there, they're, and their every once in a while, especially when the spell checker misses them, but to misspell words that can be checked, frankly, is laziness, and it drives me up the wall.

I've spent the day surfing and compiling links in PotC for my page. I feel your pain.

you think this is bad, wait til all the appalling (that's appalling with TWO p's, thanks) Troy fic starts rolling in next spring. I shudder to think what these people are going to do with Ancient Greek...

(and roll in it will... Orli and Bean in the same flick equals instafandom, mark my words.)

and ps,

just be glad it wasn't "Pirates of Kyrgyzstan" ;)

I feel your pain. I truly, truly do. Some PotC fic is just painful. And the 'discussions' can be even worse.

You know what would be great? If some generous soul trolled through all the crap and put together a list of good stories.

Huh. Which would otherwise be known as a list of recs. ;)

This is why I'm relying on friends' rec pages to find good PotC fic. It's hell trying to sift through the LJ communities, not to mention the even scarier mailing lists *shudder*
