I desperately miss sushi, bookstores and movie theaters within walking distance, but there are definite good points to living back in the wilderness. Like wacky headlines. From one of the local papers: "Cattle Rustler: I Only Stole 31." So, you know, that's not so bad. Unless you're the judge, who pointed out that in the good ole days, rustlin' was a hangin' crime. I bet he's been waiting years to use that line.

You're back in the wilderness? Which wilderness, pray tell?

Hee! Too funny.

I'm waaaay up on the Canadian border again, at the top of New York, between the St. Lawrence River (people! But mostly summer people) and the Adirondack Mountains (also people! But mostly summer people as well). It's where I grew up, lots of farms, lots of fields, lots of forests- very pretty and I like it a lot, but there's not a lot of culture unless you're willing to drive. And I was living in Toronto until relatively recently, so I've traded one of the most multicultural cities in the world for Bovine Utopia, where all those little ethnic restaurants I loved so much are replaced with A-1 Chinese Takeout.

But we have much weirder crime, so it's not all bad. *g*

Ooh, it sounds very pretty. I only saw the City when I was in NY, so I missed all the nice countryside. I've heard so many good things about Toronto as well. Did you like it there? All the multiculturalism sounds appealing.

Heh. Yeah, at least there's always crime involving cows.
