Thanks to the vast popularity of Harry Potter and co., fandom is tetchier than ever about Britpicking, dialect policing, providing cultural tip-sheets and all those other corrective goodies that give stories the proper tone. I get it, I do, and I sympathize with the impulse. Because it's just as annoying going in the other direction. By which I mean to say: if you're going to have Buck "knocking up" Ezra, stick a warning on that story. 'Cause over here? It doesn't mean what you're thinking it does.

Oh finally, my show's on. This day has been endless. And far too hot. It's sad when the high point of my day is lying around like a blob, watching other people having travel adventures. Hey, Ian's in Tuscany. Good episode to blobify to. Mmm, Tuscan food...

*bursts out laughing* The British postdoc in our lab found that one out the hard way when he told a femlae friend he'd be around in the morning to "knock her up." Heh.
