Argh, I hate you, LJ, I typed that comment three times and you ate it every time. I hate you so, you evil thing. (Why didn't you copy it to another file or something first, you ask? Oh, hush). So I guess I'll do that later after all. Hmph.
I'm stuck deep in a movie-watching rut. Wheels a'grinding and everything. Over the last couple of days I've watched: The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, TM with commentary from Stephen Sommers and Bob Ducsay, TMR with commentary from Sommers and Ducsay, TM with commentary from Brendan Fraser, and TM with commentary from Oded Fehr, Arnold Vosloo, and Kevin O'Connor. Plus a truckload of little extra thingies. That's a lot of Mummy. And it's one thing to do that sort of wallowing with LotR or Casablanca or something, but this is The Mummy, for goodness sake. God knows what the long-term effects will be. And I was really amused that someone on each TM commentary mentioned my favorite line, "I... am a librarian!" (of course). Stephen Sommers: "Rachel did such a terrific job, the audience really went for it, especially these lines that are coming up" (boring comment, but true). Brendan Fraser: "This is what happens when the fetters are loosened with librarians" (heh, also true). And my favorite, Kevin J. O'Connor: "It's about time librarians got their due. They've been waiting for a major film to come out, to have a line like that." Yeah, sing it, brother!
So much Mummy. I don't even remember what got me started on this kick, since last I knew, I was planning to finally break into my S3 Xena discs. Whoops. I really need Sky Captain to hurry up and open already, so I'll have another shiny B-movie to distract me. Not that there's the slightest chance that Polly Perkins will be as adorable as Evie, but hey, flying killer robots! Can't go wrong with that.
Oh hey, the UPS man is here. Hang on. Yaaaaay, comics are here! Hawaiian Dick is here! I had a point to this post when I started, but forget that, I'm gonna go read comics. Yay!
