You think I'm crazy now, but just wait until they make their move..

Hmph. Teach me to assume that because I have a viable internet connection on one day, I'll have it on the next, too. I swear, my ISP is powered by epileptic gerbils. Or maybe they're evil gerbils. Yeah, that's it. Gerbils that hate me, and chortle in wicked glee as they watch me (through their super-secret hidden gerbil spy cameras, of course) flail around, screeching at my computer, "Work, blast you! Why won't you work?! Whyyyyyyyy?!!!" It's all part of their plan for world domination, I have no doubt. Get people hooked on the internet, then use it to drive them STARK RAVING MAD, then conquer us and set up their gerbil empire with humanity as their insane-but-tractable slave labor force. It's so obvious.

Stupid gerbils.

I need some sort of "catching up" song. Something with a steady rhythm and words that don't distract. Like a sea chanty for reading my flist. That sure would be handy for times when it's at skip=aiiieeeee!!!, like now. If only you guys weren't so interesting. Be more boring, people!

Right, back to the gummy octopi and ye olde flist. Huzzah!

Joan!!! *tries and fails to refrain from pouncing on you and squeezing the stuffing out of you*

Your post has made my day. I'm glad the evil gerbils have relented and allowed you to get online for your birthday. You have been missed!

*goes to kill the gerbils for you*

Oh no, if you draw their attention, they'll drag you off to their secret gerbil gulags, where you'll spend the rest of your days sorting alfalfa kibble and empty tissue boxes! Don't sacrifice yourself! Resist the rodents! *g*

I'm just hoping (really, really hoping) that the fact that I'm optimistically saying, "I'm back, I'm catching up, I'll be around all weekend (since my email is still wonked)!" doesn't inspire my computer to, like, explode or something like that. It wouldn't be the first time. And that would be very sad indeed, because then I'd have no one to play with and I've missed you! Maybe if I sacrifice something to the computer gods...

Sekrit gerbil gulags? The horror! *quivers a bit*

Surely you've been grounded long enough, but a sacrifice probably wouldn't go amiss. Is it TSCITW that's acting up, or your provider?

Please, Mr. Internet, can Joan come out and play? */whine*

...that is quite possibly the funniest thing I'll hear all month.

Oh sure, it's funny now, but will anyone be laughing when we're slaving under a hot sun to build an imperial palace out of a thousand miles of clear plastic tubing and cedar chips? I don't think so!

(Heh, thank you!)

I'll help you organize the resistance. And Eeee! Birthday! Happy birthday! *ponders present!fic*

A very, very, very belated yay! As long as you don't mind sharing, I'm thrilled to pounce on such a pretty icon. Thanks! And now I must go thank [livejournal.com profile] sparrow_wings before another month goes by... *g*
