Also- "ABC and FOX are hoping Thursday berths for their respective struggling dramas 'Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital' and 'Wonderfalls' will give each a viewership jolt." Uh huh. I assume this is a (stupid) counter-programming move based on the (stupid) assumption that the already crowded Thursday prime time schedule, and particularly the dominated-by-one-of-the-highest-rated-shows-on-television 9PM slot, is desperate for a couple more (low-rated) shows. Stupid. I was, in fact, already watching Kingdom Hospital and Wonderfalls, as well as CSI. Loyal viewer here, tuning every week, watching the stupid commercials, despite my lack of a Nielsen box. I was pleasantly untroubled by scheduling conflicts. But now? Well, if Wonderfalls stays on Thursday (and it might not, since the move is a test run), it loses first- I mostly enjoy it, but I have quibbles, and I'm not attached to any of the characters enough to cling to them (sorry, Mr. Sadler. I still love you though). I also like Kingdom Hospital. It's slow and silly, but I like it. And Peter Wingfield's episode hasn't been shown yet, so I've been patiently putting up with the pacing problems. But are fondness and vague anticipation enough to pull me away from a show that's a cornerstone of both my fannish and general TV-watching experiences? I really don't know yet, but the odds are not good. CSI, Without a Trace, and Joan of Arcadia are the big powers in my television pantheon. They tend to win every fight. So it doesn't look good for poor Dr. Hook and friends.
That's what I get for trusting ABC and FOX. I never learn. I'd better go check on my tapes and DVDs, just to make sure the Most Evil Networks haven't developed the technology to go back and make Firefly, Miracles, Brimstone and the rest disappear from my grasp again. I wouldn't put it past them.
It's enough to make a girl stick to PBS. That Bill Moyers, woo, what a babe!

I don't doubt it for a minute, because then we'd be forced to watch the terrible reality shows and lame sitcoms they have on now. What a terrifying thought that is.
