Evil, cruel, annoying LJ, enough with all the "proxy error, broken pipe, nyah nyah!" stuff! It shouldn't take me two hours to read my flist when it's only about forty posts long! Cut it out! Aaaarrrrghhh! I'm gonna go watch Globe Trekker, and when I come back, you'd better be more cooperative, or I'll... think of something. Something bad!

There, now I feel better. Heh.

Oh yeah, and did anyone in a more westerly timezone get Century City last night instead of basketball? I was really looking forward to the bionic eyeball, but no dice. Dang. I hope they just push the original Tuesday ep back a week and show it then instead.

Yep! I thoroughly enjoyed watching the Leafs trounce the Avs, and they interviewed my fave Owen Nolan during the first period break. :-D

Well, I live in Arizona, so the only reason I get to see it is because I have digital cable and subscribe to Center Ice.

One of my favorite things about Nolan is the words that the Toronto Sun and Toronto Star use to describe him. "Rugged" is pretty common, and "gritty" gets used a lot, too. Lately, the word of choice has been "veteran", but I think the newspapers are just getting bitchy.

One of the papers did call Darcy Tucker a "pesky winger." -snickers- Seems fairly accurate.

It always makes me feel so old when announcers or reporters start nattering about a "veteran player", and they're referring to some guy who's barely 26. OTOH, hockey is one of the few sports where you routinely see players pushing forty who are still considered vital members of the team right along with the hotshot kids.

Nolan is definitely both gritty and rugged. I had the good fortune to run into him at Logitech Ice Center back when he was still captain of the Sharks (he was parked next to my car, lol!), and the man just oozed concentrated power. He also looked damn fine in ratty sweat pants and a Team Canada t-shirt. ;-)

LOL! It does, indeed. :-D
