Yesterday was productive, but not fun. I lugged and shuffled boxes of books until I whanged my shoulder into a doorframe. Oops. Today has been fun, but not productive. Actually, I've spent much of it watching Relic Hunter, so yeah, less than productive. Oh well, every so often you need mental health days, right? Right.
Somewhere on my mental tally of posts I'll write sometime after I get a good night's sleep (ah, sleep, I remember that) is a paean to the cheesy goodness that was Tia Carrere playing Indiana Jones, but for now I'll just say that, for all of its flaws, Relic Hunter never failed to entertain me, which is more than I can say about many shows of greater objective quality (
ranaeros is a very smart cookie- the icon was nicked from her as well). If I were lactose-intolerant I'd have nothing to be fannish about; easily 85% (possibly more) of my fannish best beloveds rate high on the cheeseometer. Sometimes all I ask is for something silly and shiny and not necessarily deep. So is it any surprise that my reaction to the news that The Adventures of Sinbad is going to be released on DVD was a squeak of glee? No no, not because I liked the show. Heck no, it was terrible, and whoever told Zen Gesner he should be an actor cruelly deprived the fast food industry of one of its brightest future stars. But with Relic Hunter, Beastmaster, Andromeda and now Sinbad immortalized on DVD, can other cheestastic syndicated wonders be far behind? Will Queen of Swords be next? Maybe Psi Factor? You'd better believe I'm hoping so.
Hey, no fair. Best Buy is giving out free preview DVDs of Hellboy, and there aren't any Best Buys anywhere near here. Oh well, I can wait 'til the movie opens. Clever idea, though.
PVP is watching Firefly. It has this effect on me too, I have to admit.
I should tackle comments, now that LJ has decided to send me notifications again. But is the gravitational pull of LJ strong enough to counteract the black hole of the couch? Ah, physics for couch potatoes...

Date: 2004-03-19 05:45 pm (UTC)Dude, I remember that Sinbad show. The badness...but yes! Maybe now we'll get other wonderful yet cheesy shows on DVD. Not that I can afford them right now, but still.
