Argh, what a week to come down with the plague! I was not in any shape to approach this episode of Joan in a rational way. I know there's stuff about it that will bug me later, but at the moment I'm just a bowl of sentimental, sniffling oatmeal. Now there's an image. But I have so much love for this show, even when it's cheesy. "And thanks for leaving a message with my father, the rabbi, that you want to spend the night with me building a gun." Ha! Oh, and I loved Rocky's mom, and her reaction to Joan's eulogy. The priest looked a bit boggled, but Sylvia totally got it. She and Joan have great chemistry. I'll miss both of the Tardios a lot, I think. I loved Joan getting flattened by "the big picture." Nice touch (as was Helen chalking it up to lack of breakfast). I loved the Science Fair in all its geeky glory. And then there was "Jane," and the handholding, and the kiss. I would have preferred a slower reconciliation, and Adam and Joan have miles to go yet, but still, awwww. Overall, I liked many, many things about the episode, and I really need to see it again.

The good news (for me, at least) is that I'm feeling better than I have been, so I'm hoping to spend some of tomorrow catching up on everything I've left hanging all week. I know no one's likely to get tremendously insulted when I don't respond to a comment for a few days (or to an email for ages and ages- please don't hate me [livejournal.com profile] kathlaw! *g*); it's not usually a crisis. But I still feel guilty. Which is funny when you consider how rarely I email or write to my older sister, just because I'm lazy. I'm a lousy correspondent. Oh well.

Eeeee, love, love, love for my show! I definitely need to dig up my My So-Called Life tapes and see how Joan compares. Pretty darn well, I'm thinking.
