So. Gozer the Evil Computer shuffled off this mortal coil semi-unexpectedly Monday night. Can't say I was really thrilled about that. And now I am the terrified owner of The Scariest Computer In The World, not to mention a gaping wound through my poor little credit card's heart. TSCITW is huge, black, shiny and much, much smarter than I am. I'm sort of afraid to touch it. What if I accidentally hit a button and end up with access to Uzbekistan's defense grid? TSCITW totally looks like that would be possible.

Anyway, I have three days of email to catch up with (though most of that's probably spam), my friendslist is at skip=yikes!, and I'm thoroughly daunted by the thought of catching up with everything. How on earth do people sign off for weeks at a time and ever get back on track? So if I owe you email/comments/feedback/whatever, it's coming. I hope. Assuming I don't accidentally crash the stock market or bomb Peru instead of opening the right program. You never know.

Hee! Now that would be a handy superpower to have, computer jinxing. I could have some fun with that (mwa ha ha!)... Gozer's been going for a while, but I was hoping to get a little more time out of him. Oh well. And this new one, yikes. I feel like I should be offering it sacrifices to keep it happy.

You know, as much as I complained about Gozer and said mean things about him and cursed his very existence... I really miss him. And not just because I've suddenly jumped from Windows98 to XP and have no idea where anything is anymore, and because I'm afraid TSCITW is secretly reprogramming my appliances to rebel against me when I least expect it. Gozer was a good computer, for an evil monster. Alas. :(

I'm catching up on comments completely randomly and slowly. People will probably still be getting replies and comments on the stuff from this week two months from now. Whee, time warp!

Gotta ask. What are the specs on the defense grid supercomputer? :-) I know what I'm craving, but always interested in others' acquisitions.

BTW -- Did the Kim tape arrive? There's another marathon come November, that I'll try to get for you too, plus the movie.

Ummm... lemme look that up in the morning. I barely know what any of it means, so I never remember it. What I know off-hand is that it's a Compaq Presario with a 7550 monitor (big, nearly too big for my desk). The rest is around here someplace (yet again, I demonstrate why answering comments at 1 am is not wise).

And the Kim tape did indeed arrive (yay!). You should be getting mail from me sooner or later, depending on the whims of the post office. I was thrilled to finally have some Monkey Fist eps on tape (and more of the Seniors, of course), and I've been inflicting them on the family. Mwa ha ha! You are indeed a goddess. Or a drug dealer, whatever.

Cool! on the Kim tape, and yeah, there's a movie! It's out on DVD but I don't have it yet and it appears it'll air on the Disney Channel in late November, right after the marathon (8 hours of Kim, Ron, and Rufus). Will make sure I have a tape for you. :-)
