Can't comment. Am very frustrated, because new Subtext Report and I cannot comment! Erk! Fingers crossed for tomorrow, but for now, lemme just say- all hail [livejournal.com profile] carolinecrane.

Also, an article on Without a Trace. Same old vague spoilers on the geometry (although Eric Close has ideas that make me sad, alas. The boy is no slasher), and also some vague Danny spoilers (which also do not thrill me). Well, we'll see. There's always hope (and Denial!Fic). There's a video clip in the sidebar, but I can't watch it on Evil Computer, so no idea how spoilery (or interesting) that is.

Ugh, icky article. Close needs to hush up about silly relationships that don't make sense. I also am not thrilled about the Danny spoilers. Why must romance be done so very badly in series television?

That is an excellent question. I'll never understand why there always has to be a romantic plotline. If TPTB are desperate for romance in their show, why can't they just leave it as oblique hints that we can ignore if we want to? It's very frustrating.

I've often wondered the same thing. I mean, with most of the shows that are slashed, TPTB usually say they're going for the 18-25 male demographic. If so, why are we getting so much romance? Is it just so they can parade a lot of pretty women across the screen? Why all the screwed up romance?

You! You have a lot to answer for. I watched WaT for teh first time last night after reading your posts about it. And now I'm like, hold on, why are they bickering so much?

Hee! Oops! Um, sorry about that. They bicker because they can't (or won't) communicate clearly, and because they have mountains of baggage that they insist on ignoring until it causes problems, and because they don't want to be feeling what they're feeling so they bury it under sniping (a la the David/Maddy template). And because Danny's a dork (yeah, I still haven't quite forgiven him for the end of last season). But aren't they cute? Martin smiles so happily when Danny teases him, like in the prison art scene. He has such a crush.
