Action figure whining (more emotional than economically sound)

One of the many cool things about the LotR action figures is how well done the relative scale of the characters is. Galadriel, Elrond and Saruman look down on everyone else, Boromir is broader than Eomer who's broader than Aragorn, and so on. So naturally the hobbit figures are pretty wee compared to the rest.

So why aren't they any cheaper? They use a lot less plastic and paint; we should get a discount on them. You should be able to get two Merrys for the price of one Gandalf, or, more fittingly, Merry and Pippin for the price of one Boromir. (I would say the same goes for Gimli, but I don't think he'd be appreciative.)

I'm just whining because I can't find a RotK Sam for under $10 plus shipping, and since that's what I paid for Aragorn and Eomer, it bothers me to pay much that for Sam (not that Sam isn't wonderful, but he's smaller and uses fewer raw materials). But if I don't get him, Frodo will be sad (and so will I, because Sam's great and it's a really nice figure). I can't send Frodo off with Boromir. Boromir has enough to deal with already, wrangling his herd of Aragorns, Eomers, Merrys and Pippins, and anyway he thinks Frodo is kind of annoying. And all the other Frodos have Sams, so RotK Frodo will feel left out (well, one Frodo has an Arwen, but he's different). It's all very disheartening.

And how come the Legolas and Arod set doesn't come with Gimli too? Did Legolas dump him off somewhere like a big elf jerk? Toy Biz should have made a weird-looking plastic blob Gimli, like the weird-looking plastic blob Frodo that came with Arwen and Asfaloth. Poor Legolas looks bereft. Or confused. It can be hard to tell.

This whole day has been one long span of time-killing, with a fabulous night of repeats as the sole light on the horizon. Nick/Greg/Archie, Martin and Danny's fight and the shoe-selling proposal scene... c'mon, prime time, get here already! This week is never going to end.

Ahaha! That's one of the funniest things I've read all day.

Whew! I'm glad you think it's funny rather than scary- I can just picture someone like, say, my mom, reading this and deciding I've finally cracked. ;)

*laughs*

As someone who has Fred and George Weasley, Draco Malfoy, Ron Weasley, Tom Riddle, Merry & Pippin and a Stormtropper action figures, I understand how you feel.

They have Tom Riddle figures? Oooh. I wonder if Boromir would want one... ;)

My Tom Riddle action figure glows in the dark.

He's fabulous. He even comes with a book.

God, this was funny. I love the way you write your entries.

*snicker* This especially cracked me up. Poor Legolas, how dare they keep Gimli from him, causing bereft-ness. Tragic, that.

Well thank you! And how sad is it that the one thing that has thus far kept me from buying the Legolas/Arod set isn't that I'm broke (which I am) or that I have no room (which I don't), but that it doesn't have Gimli? Both of my other Legolases have Gimlis, so if I get this new Legolas and he doesn't, he might get jealous. And what if he decides to kidnap one from one of the other Legolases? He's the only one with a getaway vehicle, after all. Chaos!

Kidnapping, getaway vehicles, and LOTR. Who knew? ;)
