Okay, here's a question for you: what kind of cookies do you really, really like? If you were a newly-minted graduate student in Geology, far from home and family and boyfriend, stressed and scared and broke, what sort of cookies arriving on your doorstep would cheer you up? Any and all suggestions are good.

Also, Warren Ellis doesn't dislike the casting of Keanu as John Constantine (thanks, Dave!). That's interesting.

Lastly, does the fact that "Suspect" was the Sunday WaT repeat mean that we'll be seeing AYNOHYEB on Thursday (since they did the Chet Collins eps back to back like that)?

Okay, not quite lastly, because I had to mention that the guy I just bought my RotK Frodo AF from is named Greg Sanders. Heh. When geek worlds collide...

I hope so. Not that I'll be watching it, cause tennis, but still. It's my favorite episode. With the fighting and the shoes and the slash.

'Zactly, I really need that one on tape. It's just so slashy. I know they'll get to it eventually, if it isn't this week, but I'm tired of waiting. I want the shoe scene!

First things first, the Thursday line-up is as follows:

CSI: Random Acts of Violence, Forever
WaT: Are You Now or Have You Ever

So, that's the long version of 'yes'.

As for cookies, my favorite comfort food cookie is a recipe called Chocolate Crinkles, which consists of disgustingly rich chocolate cookies with a powdered sugar topping. But for a cookie that travels really well, there's a chocolate cookie recipe that uses peanut M&Ms in the mix. The name escapes me at the moment, but the recipe's either around here somewhere or at my sister's house.

There's also a no-bake chocolate oatmeal cookie recipe that is more like a candy than a cookie, but it's very comfort food-ish. Did I mention that chocolate is good for these situations?

Um...for the chocolate hater Swedish oatmeal cookies are good.

Excellent, I'll definitely have to make sure there's room on the tape for that then. And double CSI again? Neat.

Those Chocolate Crinkles sound really good, and I think I saw a recipe that sounded a bit like them when I was hunting (not the same one, I'm sure, but close, maybe). They're for my little sister, who sounds like she's in need of a care package already. Of course, since I remember what my first couple weeks of grad school were like, I'm not surprised. Chocolate cookies might help a little. Thanks muchly!

I have it. Somewhere. I may have rewatched the Danny/Martin bits after the first time I saw it.

Yep, it does. (I regularly post the schedule in [livejournal.com profile] without_a_trace; the entry with the current reruns is here.

AH! It's, like, two of my favorite episodes ever. Slashy. Woo!

I am not making sense. Too much RPing or something.

Heh, can't imagine why. I didn't think of it the first time around. I figured, clip show, why bother? Silly of me...

That would be fabulous! I'd be very grateful, as long as it isn't a hassle for you. No hurry either- I don't think I'll get a chance to bake until later in the week, anyway.

It's no problem, it's a short recipe. Besides, I'm not doing anything today except writing the sequel to the boarding school slash that I said I wasn't going to write.

Shall I send it to the e-mail listed in your profile?

Yup, that'd be fine. Thanks! (Sucked into writing something else you said you wouldn't? The combination of a lack of good rarefic and an eager, enthusiastic audience seems to have a wearing effect on your willpower. Which is really, really not a complaint. *g*)

Heh. Actually, this time it's because I left a detail hanging and it was bothering me. I probably would have been able to let it go if someone else hadn't noticed, but alas...it's just as well, I always like to write a little post-smut schmoop just to solidify the whole 'happily ever after' vibe. Because I'm a geek that way.

I'm a big fan of post-smut schmoop (or schmoop in general, really). No author will ever get snarked at by me for producing good schmoop, that's for sure. (You know, if you type "schmoop" often enough, it starts to look very strange.)

And you're really quick with that recipe! Keen! And thanks again, it looks good. We'll see if I send them to her or if I end up keeping them all for myself. Yum.

Regular toll house cookies, but you can get chocolate chips with a dash of mint in them. Heaven.

Mmm, cookies...definitely shortbread. Preferably Scottish shortbread, Highlanders. There's also a great coconut-walnut-oatmeal cookie my mum makes that I just love.

Lastly, does the fact that "Suspect" was the Sunday WaT repeat mean that we'll be seeing AYNOHYEB on Thursday (since they did the Chet Collins eps back to back like that)?

Is this the really slashy one you've been telling me about? The clip show? If so, and if we do get to see it on Thursday, yay!

Shortbread! That's an excellent idea- it's easy and comforting, it goes well with tea (Little Sister is a big tea drinker, like me), and it ships really well. Plus it'll make a nice contrast to the various chocolate cookies I might make (assuming I don't make chocolate shortbread, that is *g*). Thanks!

And yup, turns out that Thursday's ep is indeed the slashy clip show. Yay! The excellent subtext almost makes up for the fact that it's another hour of that mega-creepy headmaster from Sunday's ep. Not a character I've been in a hurry to spend more time with. shudder

Welcome! :) It does indeed go very well with tea, which is so terribly important, IMO. And comforting, oh yes. I need to learn how to make them.

Yay for slashy eps! I loved it muchly, with the cuteness of the shoe selling proposal scene. And yeah, the creepy headmaster guy is quite...well, creepy. No wonder Jack tossed his cookies.
