Not dead yet, but praying for death (preferably Neil Gaiman's Death- she was such a cutie). War? Whatever, I’ll be upset later. At the moment, I'm continuing my battle with the Martian Death Flu that crops up this time every year. I always avoid it (healthy farmgirl constitution, thank you very much) and I always mock my friends (lovingly) as they go all Camille on me. Well, this year, the gods decided the Happy Fun Plague was mine to enjoy. That's karma for you.

So I've been lying on the couch, watching kids' movies (My Neighbor Totoro! The Iron Giant! Mulan! I haven't cried so much at movies in ages! Do kids react like this, or just soppy, sickly adults?). I'm wishing I had my new comics to play with. I just ordered the first half of my putting-it-off-since-mid-January list, mostly Oni books and assorted others- my Crossgen books have to wait a bit longer. This post is the most organized thing I've done in a week, and it's not very. I had a ton of things that were supposed to get done this week, and honestly I don't care that none of them did. Stupid germs. They've sapped all my will to work.

I'd feel guilty just posting a whine and no fannish stuff, so here's a quirky little account of one woman's Two Towers viewing experience- Bride of Boromir by Rachel Hartman. Rachel is the creator/writer/artist of an absolutely wonderful mini-comic called Amy Unbounded, about ten-year-old Amy's adventures in the medieval queendom of Goredd. Her father is a gentle weaver type, her mom is a fierce barbarian, her mentor is a dragon in human form who's in love with a beautiful cheesemaker... the art is cute and appealing, the stories are funny and touching, and the characters always ring true. Check it out- it's well worth a look.

Now back to my cozy nest/death bed. Cough cough. I can’t wait until I can focus my eyes enough to read all the new fic that I'm sure is out there. I miss pretty men in love and lust! Stupid, stupid germs.

I hope you feel better soon. I know it stinks to be sick.

Take good care of yourself!

Thanks for the nice wishes! I'm just so tired of being sick and tired. But I think the worst is past, hurray.
