Every time I see/hear/read an ad for that wretched-looking Cupid show with Simon Cowell, I flash back to wonderful Jeremy Piven's Cupid, and it gives me a little happy thrill. But it never lasts, it never lasts. Stupid Simon Cowell.

Isn't it evil? Bait and switch, I call it- they tease us with memories of a good show (with Jeremy! Yay!), and instead foist some more reality show junk off on us. Downright evil!

See, here's where I think that reality shows are truly a sign of the end of the world. They're taking over the airwaves and they're getting dumber with every passing minute. It's got to be a weird government mind-control thing. And I am only half-kidding.

Hey, TAR is an experiment in sociology. And the downfall of mankind. I can't help it, it's like a train wreck. At least I don't watch The Bachelor.

That sounds like a perfectly reasonable theory to me. I wouldn't be at all surprised to hear that reality shows are part of an evil sociological experiment. And (to get really wacky) you know that bit at the beginning of Contact where Earth's radio and TV signals beam off into space until they hit alien ears? Imagine what they'd be hearing these days. They'd probably come blast us with their death rays out of good taste.

And to think I haven't watched X-Files in years.

Yes, yes. They shouldn't be allowed to assign that title to some crap reality show. Damn them!

I keep hoping the TV Gods will make with the smiting and drop a satellite on the folks in charge of such decisions, but considering the state of TV these days, I think they aren't paying attention. Too bad, some smiting would be useful.
