Wonderful things...

Huzzah! I finally found my Season 5 Highlander tapes! I'd obviously put them someplace where I thought they'd be safe and easy to find. Yeah. Six months I've been looking for them now.

But no matter, they're here, they're fine and they're full of Methosy goodness. Mom should be pleased, too- if she enjoyed the subtext in Season 4, no doubt she'll enjoy Season 5 even more, depressing as it can be. "Modern Prometheus" ought to be a treat. She's always had a thing for the Romantic poets (the Romantics and the Cavaliers. Mom's a wild woman), so Byron should go over well. Plus, Jonathan Firth. Yum.

As for me, I'm off to wallow in the Horsemen eps for a while. It's been far too long. Even wretched Cassandra, easily my least favorite recurring character in the series, can't ruin those for me. There's just too much that's wonderful about them- the Jimmy scene, Methos the Biggest Bad, supportive, protective Joe, "I want to believe" Duncan, Kronos the worst ex ever... I love these episodes!

And I've always wanted a Silas of my own. I could keep him supplied with wooden flutes and horses and monkeys, and he could smite my enemies into their constituent atoms. It'd be great!

Hey, guess what I just happened upon?

That Pirate SV fic I mentioned the other day (http://smallville.slashdom.com/archive/25/pirate.html)

I haven't read it, because...pirates. Also, I'm busy writing Danny/Martin and that's more important. But I thought you would like the actual URL instead of just a vague allusion to the aforementioned fic. Going back to writing now.

Woo! That's fabulous! Thanks muchly- I had just started hunting for it, so you've saved me hours. Now shoo, go write. That's much more important. (kidding, kidding. sorta. I'm very sugar-high at the mo'.)

Men with Edged (and pointed) Weapons

And I've always wanted a Silas of my own.

"And I liked Silas!"

Ah, yes. Loved those eps, despite Cassandra, who should have been allowed to lose her head.

Have you seen "Fierce Creatures"? Wonderful movie, and the actor who played Silas is wonderful in it (as of course is John Cleese).

Love the Methos icon. :-)

Cassandra rubbed me wrong from her first appearance. I ended up yelling at the TV, "Stop coming on to wee!Duncan! He's a little kid!" Just, ew. I had hoped Kronos would get her, but no such luck.

And here I've been avoiding "Fierce Creatures" because I was afriad it would tarnish my love for "A Fish Called Wanda"! I had no idea Silas was in it (not to discount the rest of the fabulous cast, of course). I'll definitely need to rent it now.

I figured since I don't have an Ezra icon, I at least needed Methos- my icons needed a dose of moral ambiguity. [livejournal.com profile] lanning made it (she made my "Real Ghostbusters" one too)- she always does such nice iconage. I wish I could have more than ten, though. I hate deciding who makes the cut.

"Fish" and "Creatures"

"Fierce Creatures" isn't a sequel other than in using some of the same cast. And it's very silly, delightful, and in some ways I almost like it better than "Wanda." I think it's the motorized panda. :-)
