So RotK is upon us, and I'm not mad with anticipation. It's utterly bizarre. I can't explain it. Here it is, one of the highest points of my fannish life, and instead of bouncing off the walls with giddy glee, I'm completely serene and detached. I am a fannish Buddha. I suppose my continuing general blah-ness is a factor, as is the fact that my fan-brain is still distracted by Firefly (three days until those DVDs are mine!), Joan, M&C, and even some residual giddiness from the PotC DVDs. But other than that... all of my RotK-squee seems to be locked up in some part of my brain that I can't access yet.

But you realize what this means, of course. I'll get to the theater at some point (soon, I hope), and my brain is going to completely short-circuit from the biggest delayed reaction ever recorded. I'll be left a drooling idiot, occasionally mumbling, "Pelennor... mumakil... Denethor... buhbuhbuhbuh..."

There might even be spontaneous human combustion.

Was that Jubal Early I saw on Navy NCIS tonight? I only caught a glimpse, but it looked creepifyingly like him. Darn it, that's what I get for not paying attention to the non-Abby/Ducky scenes (aka "the plot"). I did catch the cameo by Illya Kuryakin, though, or at least the cameo by a picture of young David McCallum. Such a cutie, even now. I still wish it were The Ducky and Abby Show. Or the Ducky, Abby, Archie, Bobby and Nameless Tech Guy from WaT Show. Darn those cute supporting characters.
