But holy cats, those kids are good actors. If I ran the Emmys, Amber and Christopher would be working on their speeches already.

I might, at some future point, comment more on characterization, plot twists and so forth. I'm sort of waiting for the end of the season at this point. For now, I'm sticking to my current comment. And I deleted one particular JoA icon and uploaded this one again. You bet I'm that petty.

I haven't been watching JoA for the past several weeks, but I saw Angst and Doom heading Joan and Adam's way since season two opened. He cheated on her?

Well, you weren't wrong about the Angst and Doom. I've seen it coming too, so I was braced, but the way it played out was not very satisfying. Yeah, he cheated on her (argh!). I don't know, the way it was handled didn't seem very in character, horny teen boy or not. It's a pity that the writing doesn't seem up to the calibre of the actors anymore. Opportunities lost.

I don't like what's happened to Joan and Adam, but it may be a good thing for them to be apart. Because, really, those two don't have a *healthy* relationship--they never actually looked *happy* together, and seemed more uneasy together as a couple than they did as friends.

Yeah, they didn't and they were, which is sad. They stopped talking when they started dating (or rather, they stopped just talking and started having big, dramatic scenes). If they'd found some way to keep their friendship while deepening it, it might have worked, but instead they tried to squeeze themselves into the "right" roles and live up to romantic ideals. The whole "crazy camp" thing got them off to a bad start, too, I suppose, and it's all just so frustrating. Pretty accurate for a swoony high school romance, but that doesn't make it any less painful to watch.
