NCIS- "Chained"

You ever watch an episode of Show BlahBlah and think the entire time, "Wow, this episode is really good! I'm really enjoying this! And the stories it inspires are going to be so baaaaad!"? Good NCIS tonight, but oh, how I fear for the future. So much of the fic for this show is unfortunate enough as it is. And with this episode... fingers of dread running up and down my spine. Flee the fangirls, Tony, flee!

I don't even watch that show, yet I know all too well the phenomenon of which you speak. You have my deepest sympathies, and a spork for when the agony becomes to great to bear.

Hee! I will never pick on people for their typos. Not since the day I misspelled my name. Four times in a row. On a major exam. Oops!

Oh dear.

I've misspelled my last name before. Never my first name, but my last ... yep.

I was writing a check at the time. Needless to say, the clerk was VERY careful about checking my ID. *G*

Yeah, I figured you'd understand (and icon!Ezra does too! *g*). There are just times when you can see it coming, you know? Like the Blob. But you're the cop outside the movie theater, and squiiiiish. Oh well. At least the episode was good. And badfic has its own charms, I suppose. Or something. *g*

LOL! With some fandoms, you really do need a high tolerance for badfic just to survive. *g*

I didn't catch it, since I was out with my grandparents, but ooooh, do I know what you mean. Just the trailers sent out that vibe.

(Though, honestly, I haven't been brave enough to venture into the fanfic yet. I'm terrfied I'll run across Kate/Tony fic, the very IDEA of which scares me.)

It was a good episode, but... yeah. It was just loosely enough constructed and had just enough missing scenes and just enough meaningful pauses that it was practically cooing "Write fiiiic...." I mean, it would be a godsend to a good writer. But not a lot of good writers have tried their hand at NCIS fic. There are a few good stories, but there's mostly an abundance of mega-h/c, cuddly OOC mush, lack of humor (the show is funny, guys! Come on!), weird nicknames- which doesn't even touch the issue of what Tony would call Gibbs. Jethro? Really hard to picture. Leroy? No one calls him Leroy. "Jet" or "Jeth"? The heck?- tears, lots of tears... it ain't pretty. And I'm sure there's Kate/Tony out there. But I haven't gone looking either. I like my eyes, and I'd hate to have to gouge them out. ;)
