Would anyone be able to tape tonight's House (on Fox or Global at 9) for me? My reception on Global is even worse than usual today, thanks to the weather (though it's rarely good- watching this show is a game of "guess which fuzzy talking blob is Hugh Laurie"), and tonight's episode has nuns. Nuns! I love nuns! They're my people! Um, sort of. Academically speaking. Anyway, if anyone could help me out, I'd be eternally grateful (and will pay, give cookies, offer sacrifices, whatever). Please and thank you!

Speaking of nuns, one of my Chanukah presents was this year's "Nuns Having Fun" calendar, a slightly odd choice for a Chanukah gift perhaps, but I'm certainly not complaining. It's so cute! It's all black and white photos from the '50s and '60s of nuns, in full habit, of course, all ice skating, bowling, riding around in speed boats, playing tug-of-war, and that sort of thing. Definitely my type of calendar. Heh.

And call me biased, but it seems practically criminal that the soundtracks for the first three Muppet movies have been out of print all these years. Actually, I think the Brian Henson movie soundtracks are OOP by now, too. That is just not right. Won't someone please think of the children? How can we expect them to become functioning members of society if they don't know all the words to "Movin' Right Along" (even if they don't get all the puns), "Can You Picture That?" or "Together Again"? Truly, it is a tragedy.

I completely agree. I want my children to know the words to "Rainbow Connection" so that they can fully operate in today's society. As for myself, I'd kill for a copy of the soundtrack to A Muppet Christmas Carol and The Muppet Movie.

Exactly! These are necessary elements of a well-rounded education! I despair for the future, I really do. Plus my own copies are wearing out- they're tragically almost all on cassette. Why oh why didn't I just buy CDs even though I didn't have a CD player at the time?

What an adorable calendar!

They're OOP? That's terrible. On my harddrive right now (and on my musicmatch playlist, consequently), I have "Movin' Right Along", "Right Where I Belong", "The Rainbow Connection", "Can You Picture That?", "One More Sleep Til Christmas", "Scrooge", "It Feels Like Christmas", "Marley and Marley", "Shiver My Timbers", "Sailing for Adventure", "Cabin Fever", "Professional Pirate", and my personal favorite, "I'm Going to Go Back There Someday".

*is terrible Muppet geek, omg*

We won't talk about the Care Bear mp3s I have...

Me too. My computer start-up sound used to be an MP3 of Animal and the Sweedish Chef singing "Hava Nageela". Alas, I later lost it in a computer crash.

They're the cutest nuns ever! *g* I even tracked down a copy of last year's version on eBay, just because this year's was so cute. Who cares if I can't use it- now I have pictures of nuns roller skating, throwing snowballs and playing with hula hoops! Hee!

That is a most excellent collection of Muppet music, my friend. :) When I first saw Treasure Island, I ended up with "Professional Pirate" stuck in my head for days and days. There are worse fates, certainly. *g*

We won't talk about the Care Bear mp3s I have...

Heeeee. I won't pick on you, honest. Besides, I have Electric Company tracks on my computer, so...

Hey, are you watching or downloading House? Hugh is so very good (and scruffy and grumpy and mean and delectable) and Robert Sean Leonard has completely vindicated my having had a crush on him for... lemme do the math. Fifteen years. Huh, long time. *g*

Roller skating nuns! Hee.

Listening to Muppet music always cheers me up :) Ooh, Treasure Island does have some marvelously catchy tunes in it.

Electric Company, eh? How 'bout School House Rock?

Well, as you know, I'm recording House now :) Oooh, so much love! Now, is Robert Sean Leonard playing Wilson? B/c if so, yes, he's very cute!

Gaaah! How can the Muppet Movie soundtrack be OOP? It's a classic.

It is! And it's just weird and wrong that it's not available, and that people who want it are stuck paying lunatic prices at eBay or illegally downloading or beating up little old ladies or such unsavory means of procurement. ;) All I can figure is that it's part of the "owned by Disney effect," and hope that they get cycled back into circulation at some point soon. Very soon. I need new copies!

Special edition DVDs of the movies would be good, too. The current prints need remastering at the very least. I don't want the Muppets to get eaten up by time and poor treatment. That would be a tragedy.

I do, I do! You're a goddess among women and I will owe you hugely! And I actually have mail for you sitting at the end of my table, so I guess I should mail that, huh? *g* Oh, blessings on your head, you're a life saver!

I have two vcrs and shopping bags of used videotape that WILL BE TOSSED as soon as I can bear to do it, so taping for friends is really a mercy for me.
