Hmph. If you ask me, A Beachcombers' Christmas was not a good trade for Rick Mercer. A Danger Bay Christmas, maybe.

I have a new television addiction, and sadly enough, it's a show intended for three-to-five year olds (no comments from the peanut gallery). But once upon a time I was flipping channels when I passed by TVO and heard a voice I'd know anywhere. Next thing I knew, I was thoroughly hooked on Peep and the Big Wide World. It's really quite cool for a show meant for very small persons- the theme song is sung by Taj Mahal (blues for babies!), the plotlines are all based on easy science concepts and are probably good for inspiring nature walks, and the narrator whose voice first caught my attention is Joan Cusack. Joan Cusack! Decidedly cool. My favorite character of the main three- Peep, Chirp and Quack- is Quack, without question. He's bossy, arrogant, egotistical and high-strung, but rather sweet underneath all that. He's basically Rodney McKay disguised as a fat blue duck with a sailor hat. It's even cuter than you're picturing, I promise.

And I forget what the other thing I wanted to mention was. Hm. Oh well, why would I want to say anything of substance or meaning anyway? That's far too much work for this hour.

*blush, blush* That's better than thinking "what a flake," certainly. Though you're free to think that too- I sure do, rereading some of the things I've said. *bg*

It's an addictively cute show! There's just something about it, with the fat little no-neck birds, and the super-catchy theme, and the occasional very funny-but-strange (for a 3-5 yr old audience, anyway) line... just too much fun. :D

You are a bad influence.

It's finals time. I have papers to write on (what feels like) every aspect of affordable housing one can imagine. Exams loom. Books are stacked to ceiling. Time is passing...tick tick tick.

And I just spent the last 20 minutes playing "Where's Quack?" on the Peep website.

I blame you.

Mwa ha haaaa! Mine evil plan is verking! Soon, I shall rule... the verld!

How I'll accomplish that by luring you away from the brain-straining and into the vortex of children's television, I'm not quite sure yet. But I'm sure there's a way- it is Hahvahd and all. ;)

Hee, "Where's Quack?"! I love that one. He's so cute! That one and the bunny balancing one. The bunnies are downright hypnotic. It's a good thing we're not five and impressionable, no? Or not five, anyway. Heh.

(You holding up okay with the semester-ending? If you need to scream most primally, feel free to ring. I'm going deaf anyway- that devil rock-and-roll, ya know. *g*)

Oh fine! Tempt me with balancing bunnies and leave me to go balance them for fifteen minutes.

I have made the blue end heavier. Good job!

Now if only my budgeting homework were as entertaining. Or cute. Budgeting does not have a fluffy tail. It is, however, in endless supply. Thus its resemblence to the balancing bunnies ends.

I'm hanging in there, thanks. Hah-vahd had no defeated me yet. I'll be sure to call and panic at you when it happens. You can comfort me with slashy goodness and tell me to get over myself.

It always worked before...
