Breaking CSI News! Baaaad news! dum dum DUM!
Hi all! Sorry about vanishing yet again for, what, all of June and half of July (but just think of all that spam you didn't have to read). It would seem that when I lost my posting momentum back in April, I really, really lost it. And alas, my email is still not quite up to snuff (sekrit sidenote to
mrkinch- you are a goddess among magazine readers! Thanks muchly for the heads-up, and may flowers rain on you from the skies! Or gold doubloons, but I bet that would sting). I'm in the middle of a thing involving little Playmobil Vikings, so this is not a real update. Maybe tomorrow. But! I have breaking CSI news from Variety! And it is of the "I, personally, no longer have a reason to watch this show" type, so I must share the pain. I wonder if I'll have anything to watch next season. Thank the gods and little fishes for PBS.
Eye axes 'CSI' duo
Moonves gets tough

Blood is on the floor at "CSI": CBS has fired thesps George Eads and Jorja Fox from the hit Eye drama for breach of contract.
Eye toppers Leslie Moonves and Nancy Tellem, apparently drawing a line in their sand, made the decision after Eads -- looking for a pay hikehike -- failed to show up to work Thursday, the first day of production on the new season of the skeinskein. Fox reported to duty, but insiders said her reps had been asking for more coincoin, and the Eye acted after Fox failed to reply to a letter asking her if she had any plans to not show up to work.
Both actors were in the fifth year of seven-year pacts. A search has already begun for new actors to join the show. It's unclear if their parts will be recast or if creators will come up with new characters.
It's not unusual for producers and nets to fire thesps on procedural dramas as part of salary disputes. Dick WolfDick Wolf, for example, fired the stars of "New York Undercover" after they went public with their salary beefs.
Moonves also played hardball with the supporting cast of "Becker," refusing to meet their salary demands. Thesps ulimately relented.
Television, you are a bitch goddess.
