Denethor drove me nuts, because they got bits of him down right, like in that first scene with Gandalf and the horn, and then there'd be something that was so horribly wrong (like his death) that it drowned out the good bits. So, so frustrating. I was mostly okay with the changes to Faramir, once I got used to them, but this... I don't know. I need to see it again. I don't have a handle on what they were trying to do, I think.
But I'm almost entirely satisfied with everything else, so I won't complain too much. I'm just so amazed at these movies. I never thought they were possible, and while I liked PJ's earlier stuff, it sure as heck didn't point to this. Next year should be depressing, with no new one to look forward to, though. I don't think I'll think about that just yet.
