Oh, I so liked Adam last week! And he and Joan had great chemistry. I want the writers to give him more to do!

Me too! And even with only a moment or two in this ep, I still thought he was great, but I'd love to see more. Poor guy, he was not thrilled by the whole "Joan likes wrestlers" thing. For some reason the actor reminds me of the guy who played Brian Krakow in MSCL- I don't know if it's the eyes or the voice or maybe just the geeky character, but it's something.

But somebody on the staff obviously knows their Bible. It makes me wonder what kind of advisers they have. Because the show's not an apologist for Catholicism, which is a nice, refreshing change of pace. And they're even making fun of the religion. Makes me wonder what the advisers think of all this.

Yeah, I was wondering about that too. It's interesting that Joan's parents were Catholics (even if they're lapsed) but the kids don't seem to be anything- I see that in RL but not on TV, so much. Can you have secular Catholics, and have that vague sense of identification only without the actual religion part, like with secular Jews? I like that the show itself seems to be pretty Unitarian, with more spirituality and less religion. Gives them some flexibility and room to play. But yeah, what do the advertisers and the Christian Right lobbies think, I wonder. I can't imagine things like snarky teenaged deities and plotlines like Grace's sexuality go over very well.

And he was played by John Marshall Jones, whom I adore. Ah, it makes me miss John Doe.

Oh neat, is that where he's from? I never got to see it, since Global picked up Firefly (wah!) but not that. Too bad. I really liked his performance in this ep (and his voice. Really nice voice).

I've gotten so paranoid about new shows getting yanked that I can't even relax and just enjoy them anymore. Miss Match being moved was great news (it was dumb scheduling in the first place, since I bet there's a good bit of audience overlap there), but I have "I like it!" jinx fears. So far so good, though...
