It took me some time to adjust to the changes in Faramir, though I think I get now what Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh were going for with them (I may or may not agree with them, but I appreciate that they put some thought into it). But from an acting standpoint, I thought Dave Wenham did an outstanding job playing Sean Bean's brother. He had all the little mannerisms and the posture and the constantly open mouth- everything but the accent, and that was pretty close. I was really impressed. And even though he wasn't necessarily the Faramir I had expected to see, I could see that Boromir and that Faramir being the close brothers and allies I had expected and wanted to see. So I don't know, I'm still conflicted about movie!Faramir. Only a week left until I can see him again and do some more pondering. Yay!

Wow, it really doesn't take much to knock me from one obsession to another, does it? I'm all "blah blah ships blah blah O'Brian blah blah pirates oooh! Faramir! Shiny!" I love being a geek. *g*

I did find this interview (http://www.murphsplace.com/crowe/bettanyw.html) with Paul Bettany while I was searching for a link for the EW Russell interview, but it's short and not new. Still I liked this bit re Russell: "We have a shorthand together, and we don't really have to work at our friendship on-screen." That's good to hear, anyway.
