Maybe Jack is recalling some adventure with island natives and how he charmed them all
Well that'd be simple enough. Look how quickly he charmed all of us. *g*
You might want to check in later time periods as well. I found out that the RN didn't have official uniforms for officers until 1748, so they took some liberties in the movie. That might pertain to the medal, too. It looks similar to medals I've seen Nelson wear, so it might be for taking part in a major battle or something.
Dagnabbit. I was beginning to think that might be the case. I don't mind the anachronisms, really. Some of them are more fun than accuracy would be. But it makes it much tougher to research these things. Oh well, at least I like research.
I adore Geoffery Rush. He makes some of the cheesiest dialogue work, and his scenes are never boring. He really is a drama queen of the best sort, and I'm so sorry he's dead.
Oh, me too. I'm really going to miss him in the sequel (if it happens. when it happens). I wish they hadn't killed him off (although it was inevitable, I guess)- I would have loved to see him, Jack and Norrington all chasing each other across the seas for a while. Plot? Um....
Hmm, wouldn't that be awful if they couldn't feel anything positive, but they could feel pain?
Yikes, that would be awful! Not that a curse should be fun, but still, erk. What a thought. And I was wondering about the exploded pirates too. If the skeleton hand that Governor Swann battles is able to crawl around on its own, I wouldn't be surprised if the bits of exploded pirate can too. Horrified and disgusted (ewwww), but not surprised. It might depend on how the curse works, though, and we never have quite pinned all the details of that down, have we? Probably never will, either. Darned inconsistent curse. (It reminds me of my Highlander fandom glory days, playing "fill the logical gaps of the impossible situation." Immortality is a big ole logical mess.)
