I'd love to hear the rest of that story, too. Maybe Jack is recalling some adventure with island natives and how he charmed them all :)

Norrington is a true gentleman and an officer worthy of his high rank, and I am so smitten.

Ditto to that. He's so honorable, and competent, and *hot*.

Just call me Ms. Helps-a-lot. *g* (Seriously, I've started the hunt for info on naval and military medals of the time period, and with luck something will turn up. So maybe Ms. Obsesses-a-lot would be better.)

Heh. That's a long nickname :) You might want to check in later time periods as well. I found out that the RN didn't have official uniforms for officers until 1748, so they took some liberties in the movie. That might pertain to the medal, too. It looks similar to medals I've seen Nelson wear, so it might be for taking part in a major battle or something.

Either Barbossa expected to end the curse very soon after the attack at Port Royal and thus was prepared with fresh stores, or he has a huge masochistic streak.

I adore Geoffery Rush. He makes some of the cheesiest dialogue work, and his scenes are never boring. He really is a drama queen of the best sort, and I'm so sorry he's dead. *sniff*

Why do the pirates scream when they get stabbed? Habit? It's not like they feel it.

Hmm, wouldn't that be awful if they couldn't feel anything positive, but they could feel pain? That would suck. And the immortality/healing thing has always been a mystery to me, in any movie or series. I mean, those three pirates who got blown up at the end while in human form (one from the inside, so yeah, big mess), how would they get back together? Do all the pieces just magically find each other and refuse?

That's so cool about the Jack/Black Pearl love theme! The musical cues have been so telling with this movie :) A Barbossa/Apples theme, now that would really make my day!
