taraljc for mentioning the new Sequential Tart. Usually it occurs to me around the 15th, "Hey, it's a new month, isn't it. There's a new Tart up!" Calendars are not my friends. Anyway. From "Tart to Heart: The Second Annual Tarties!":
"Finally, where last year there was an award for Best Simian, this year we have three comics which broke new ground outside of monkeys (which are soooo last year):
The first comic to realize that Pirates are the new Monkeys: Scurvy Dogs.
The first comic to realize that Zombies are the new Monkeys: Teenagers From Mars.
And The first comic to realize that "Cowboys are the new Zombies, which are the new Pirates, which are the new Monkeys" (I quote the author, Matt Fraction): Last of the Independents."
I'm not much for monkeys, but pirates, zombies and cowboys? Oh yeah.
