- eating gummi worms until the walls got all melty and I could see the music, maaan. Those things are evil. Yummy, sproingy evil.

- rereading all of [livejournal.com profile] cruisedirector's lovely A/B fic and crying, even at the (relatively) happy stuff. I'm haplessly drawn to ye olde pairings o'tragedy, and yet even as I revel in all the pain and grief and manly-silences-covering-vital-words-not-spoken, part of me is always hoping for that happy ending. Even when I know how the story has to end.

- finally reading [livejournal.com profile] hawkmoth's Where I Cannot Stand (Sharpe-ian Firefly fic! Go, read!) and crying. Now to come up with some semi-intelligent feedback. Hrm. With the aid of more gummi worms. Huzzah!

- adding tissues to the shopping list, after all the crying.

- trying to watch The Immortal. So. It's this stunningly cheesy show, about this long-haired immortal guy who goes around killing baddies with his katana (!) and the assistance of The Blonde and The Kid Sidekick. But it's not Highlander. It's much, much, much worse. Many of the problems can be summarized by noting the fact that it stars Lorenzo Lamas (surely a crime against humanity?). But! The head unkillable-demon-baddie-guy is played by Dominic Keating, who spends much of his screentime slithering around in black leather, sneering at the peasants, kicking puppies and chewing on the lovely-but-untalented girl who plays his demon girlfriend. He's obviously having fun, and he even overcomes the writing (I apologize to all writers, past and present, for calling the content of this show "writing.") to provide one or two actually creepy moments. He has a talent for conveying "very nasty things are buried in my psyche that could come spilling out at any moment"- it's a pity TPTB on Enterprise haven't made use of this for Malcolm, since I think it would work nicely. Anyway, it's a horrible show, but Dominic is fabulous in it. Such a bad show, though. I finally ended up fast-fowarding every Dominic-free scene- it was the only way to survive.

- watching Queen of Swords and wondering how Colonel Montoya would begin to seduce Dr. Helm (like he obviously wants to- sorry, Valentine, your own damn fault). By tempting him with fine wines and brandies, I think. He has the money and connections to get them, even in Fleabit, Alta California (sorry, St. Elena), and Helm is a gentleman with a fondness for alcohol (he's a doctor in a sort-of-western. Of course he drinks). Maybe Montoya could pretend to be sick, too- it seems to work for Tessa, the shameless hussy (just look at her clothes!).

- wishing I had OotP. I'm not a huge fan of the series, though I do like them- I think they're fun but not inspired (or perhaps, showing too easily the roots of their inspiration), and that Rowling's world is rather more interesting than her writing. But I've been reading everyone's spoilers and reactions, and they've triggered more enthusiasm than all the months of articles and interviews and news items were able. Plus I'm ticked at certain plot points already (I'll be in the same boat as [livejournal.com profile] musesfool, I think), so I might as well read it. No idea when I'll get to, though, so back to the Lords of Gondor. Sob sob! Maybe I should switch to Nero Wolfe or Wodehouse for a while- no tears necessary there.
