(no subject)
Mar. 31st, 2003 04:57 pmI'm just venting, because I've tried saying this before in other forums and to particular authors (nicely, of course), and Magnificent 7 fandom doesn't have much of a LJ presence (no reason why it would, really) so I don't expect to accomplish anything useful. But whatever, at least I'll feel better having gotten this off my chest. Again.
If you shoot Ezra a couple of times and toss him off a cliff and leave him there for a day or two with only a half-empty canteen for company until Nathan and the other guys find him... he's probably gonna die. Sorry. Even if Nate's the best fictional Old West doctor since Dr. Quinn, it's still the Old West and medicine is a tricky beast. Wounds as straightforward as a broken arm could be fatal in the 1870's, and if you start giving the guys complicated injuries that today would require teams of top surgeons to heal... I can only stretch my disbelief so far, okay? Just, please, remember the limits of the human body and of the healing techniques of the era, and bear in mind that Mag 7 OW doesn't (usually) have elves, wizards or aliens who can come rescue the boys if they get mushed.
Besides, if you overdo the "hurt" part of the equation, Ezra won't be in any shape to enjoy it when Vin/Chris/Buck/whoever turns up for the "comfort" half. Especially if he's dead.
