TV meme nicked from [livejournal.com profile] elleesttrois

1) How many on the air TV-shows do you follow religiously? What are they?

1. CSI
2. Without a Trace
*3. Angel
*4. Buffy
*5. Enterprise
*6. Smallville

The starred shows are a special case for me. Cable-deprived as I am, I don't actually get any of them. However I follow them devotedly through recaps, ep commentaries, LJ and boards, etc. At the end of each season I hunt down tapes of them so I can actually see the darn things. I need to move out of the sticks.

2) Which is your favorite?

Firefly, hands down. Wait, that's no longer on the air. Um, CSI then, despite the fact that I almost never watch an episode straight through. I tend to skip the Sara-heavy plotlines and the goriest of the gory bits. I'm not sqeamish in general, but sometimes CSI really pushes it.

3) Why?

I'm not entirely sure, honestly. It's not my usual sort of show- the character bits are smooshed under lots of procedural stuff that doesn't traditionally appeal to me, plus there are the aforementioned ooky bits. But the character stuff that we do get appeals to me, the cast is talented and nice to look at, the writing is solid, and since it's the number one show on its night these days, it won't be stolen from me like Firefly was.

Now with Firefly, on the other hand, I know exactly why that's my favorite. And when it rises like a phoenix I'll spend pages crowing about those whys, no doubt.

4) What are your favorite characters of the shows you watch?

1. CSI- Nick, Nick, Nick. and Greg, Catherine and Brass
2. Without a Trace- Martin and Danny. oh, and Vivian. She should totally be in charge.
3. Angel- Wesley
4. Buffy- er, I'm not sure this season, since it sounds like there's been more bodysnatching. It used to be Giles, Willow and Xander. So we'll see, I guess.
5. Enterprise- Malcolm. I just ignore Bermaga's suckitudinous attempts to heterosexualize him, since they never work and make him look bad in the process. Also Hoshi and Phlox.
6. Smallville- Lionel and Lex

5) Which are your least favorite characters of said shows?

1. CSI- Sara, when she's puppy-dogging after Gil. When she's doing her job or playing with Nick and Warrick, I don't mind her.
2. Without a Trace- Sam. She gets on my last nerve. Jack's on thin ice with me these last few episodes, too.
3. Angel- Fred. I'd say Connor too, but I've only seen him in about three episodes, so I'll hold off for now.
4. Buffy- Kennedy irritates me already, and I've never even seen her. Buffy and Spike bring out the annoying in each other and I've never been a Dawn fan, but I'll need to catch up with this season to know for sure.
5. Enterprise- Archer.
6. Smallville- has anyone not said Lana? Lana, of course. Jonathan Kent, sort of. I like him on paper. He's Dad Average dealing with impossible problems, and he's doing the best he can. Problem is, the way he's written sometimes makes him come across as such an ass, and it undoes a lot of the character's possibilities.

I want my Big Damn Heroes back. sniff
