I'm a great fan of the old Hollywood sound. Good music is so important to me in a film.
I have a question... Perhaps you know why...but why hasn't there ever been a collection of music by Herbert Stothart released? I think his the films he worked on have such a unique sound. Yes I know he repeated a lot of music in various films. But I tend to think that it was the system and not the artist. Has seems to have been banashed when it comes to people remembering the old Hollywood sound. I would love to hear his score for Marie Antonette released, or recorded anew.
