3.) It's utterly impossible for me to imagine living in a world where I haven't always known the spoilery twist endings to movies like Citizen Kane, Planet of the Apes, or Soylent Green. I've tried, I really have. But they were already punch lines when I was born, and I can't imagine what it would be like to have seen them without that baggage. Which isn't a bad thing, really, just a... thing.


I thought it would be impossible for anyone in today's society to not know these things but twice I apparently made faux pas with my now ex-husband who was from Belgium. "I'm going offline for a bit to see Soylent Green" he typed to me once via the IRC. Of course I'm going to type "SOYLENT GREEN IS..." you fill in the rest. He totally freaked on me. I don't even want to recount his bitchfest for Citizen Kane. *sigh* So, yes, I was once in that blissfully unaware state of knowing the end of every classic and thinking everyone else did too. Of course, he IS Belgian.
