Nov. 10th, 2003 04:02 pmHeigh ho! Still in Connecticut here, but I was near a computer for a few minutes and couldn't resist its demonic pull. There was some trauma on the drive down- I sideswiped a deer on the Taconic, not five minutes after I had decided to slow way, way down just in case there were deer out and about. Figures. And it was even moving away from the road, right until I was almost past it, at which point it decided to lunge into my car and take out my lights on the right side. I didn't see where it went after that, but it wasn't in the road and I don't know how badly it was hurt. I've never even hit a squirrel before. So yeah, fairly traumatic.
Other than that, it's been fun. I'm on my way back tomorrow, more behind than ever. Which is why I don't travel much these days, I guess. The catch-up afterwards is rough. But it was good to get away, get out of town and see some friends and just play for a few days. I do regret the deer, though. This year just gets better and better.
